Nokia is doing everything to get back its day of glory, when other smart phone manufacturer were boarding the ship of Android, Nokia stood to its ground and continued with Symbian. It paid for this mistake as Android and iOS ate into its market share. The rivals Apple and Samsung became the market leader in smart phone segment. Later to save the sinking ship Nokia partnered with Microsoft and came out with Lumia series of phone. Though Lumia series did show some respite from the dwindling market share but is not the remedy. With plenty of Lumia series in the market like 510,620,710,820,920 Nokia is bringing two more Lumia series of smart phones running on windows 8 mobile platform namely Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 720.
Though the phone was announced in February it is releasing in India in the March-end and mid-April respectively. With a price tag of Rs 10,500 Nokia 520 is the cheapest windows 8 phone in the Lumia series. The phone comes with solid specification and it will release during the end of March. Whereas Nokia 720 is priced competitively at close to Rs 17,000 and will be available for sale from mid-April. Lumia 520 is being endorsed as "Nokia's lowest-priced affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphone" and with price point it seems rational decision. The feature like 4-inch screen, 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 5 MP camera makes it par with other Lumia phone. Couple of disadvantage of this phone is it does not have a LED flash, and front-facing camera hence photography in low-light condition is difficult with this camera and video chat is not possible as it lacks front-facing camera. On the other hand Lumia 720 also comes with impressive specs like uni-body, 4.3-inch IPS display, 1 GHz processor, front facing HD camera, 6.7-mega pixel main camera with LED flash, 512 RAM, NFC etc. Both the phones are available in various colors that add a splash of luxury to the phone.
