  • 6 Ways to Keep your inbox Clutter-free
altCurrently e-mail is one of the chief modes of online communication for official and personal reasons. But with hundreds of e-mail filling your inbox on everyday basis it becomes herculean tasks dealing with each of them every now and then. Many employees in the businesses are not well trained in dealing with the inboxes and this has resulted in decline in their overall productivity. On an average every e-mail account holders receives tens of mails every day but to manage and read each one of them is not feasible. Hence using six useful techniques discussed by Productivity coach Wendy Cole is very useful.

Below are 6 important and effective ways to keep your inbox clutter-free

1. Delete: This is by far the most simple and effective method to keep your inbox clutter free. Not every mail that arrives in your inbox is useful. So if you find a mail, read it and if it is useful keep it or else delete it there itself. This makes your inbox available for important message only.

2. DO: If you read the mail and think that the matter at hand is very important and if you could reply to the mail there itself in two minutes then do it. This will not create any backlog and you will have all your important mail answered.

3. Delegate: If the mail you received is important but you cannot reply it in two minutes and if you are in a position to delegate it to someone else then do it right away. This will help you to keep the inbox clutter-free.

4. Defer: If the mail you received is not possible to respond in two minutes and it could be replied later then defer it till that time and see to it that you attend to that mail at the appointed time. You can add this mail in to-do list, which will help you to respond it on-time.

5. Diminish: Creating different folders as per the mail relevance helps you to organize your inbox. This way you can respond to the mail which is on priority basis.

6. Daily: Reading your mail daily and get your email count down to zero and do it daily.

This useful and handy technique will save plenty of your valuable time and improve your productivity at work.
